Models Direct discusses 2 Broke Girls, Beth Behrs transition from model to actress

As an agency working with multi-talented people every day, Models Direct understands that having a second or third talent is always a great selling point. And whilst modelling can be a fulfilling career in itself, it can also serve as an excellent starting off point for those who wish to get into acting, dancing or singing. In fact, Models Direct says that modelling is a brilliant gateway career for those interested in the world of acting.

Many of the world’s most famous actresses, including Brooke Shields, Lindsay Lohan and Katherine Heigl, are known for having begun their careers in modelling. However Models Direct were keen to find out more about the 2 Broke Girls actress Beth Behrs, who plays Caroline Channing, and her transition from model to famous actress.

Now known all over the world for playing the role of a trust fund princess who ends up working as a waitress, Behrs first began her career performing in the theatre, at just five years of age. Ten years later, she began to study and perform at the ACT, or American Conservatory Theatre. Whilst here, she play parts in Korczak’s Children by Jeffrey Hatcher, and the musical called Dangling Conversations; the music of Simon and Garfunkel. It was at this stage in her career that she also began to model in print ads and act in television commercials.

Having used her modelling work to gain both experience and exposure, Behrs was then named as a California Arts Scholar by the Governor, Gray Davis in 2002. As part of this award, she was given the chance to study with the famous actress Helen Hunt and was later accepted into the University of California’s Theatre School. Graduating four years later, Behrs then won the highly coveted scholarship called the Young Musician’s Foundation scholarship. All her hard work paid off, Models Direct say, as soon after this she score a number of appearances on the famous TV shows Castle and NCIS. Some of the feature films which she has played parts in include Serial Buddies and American Pie: Book of Love, and of course, today she is known as the hilarious Caroline on the hit television series 2 Broke Girls.
